Castle Hotel - Sat nite 16th June.
Performed in a Motorhead cover band ORGASMATRON that was slapped together a month ago just for the nite..Twas a fund raising show for 107.3 Heritage FM. Put together by the guys from ANGER MANAGEMENT metal radio prog thingo.
Dan - (bass player from the Furor) on drums, Clint - (guit for Pyromesh) on bass, myself on guit and vocals. (I actually didn't know their surnames until I asked them between songs :S)
What a crazy fuckin nite it was. Clint and myself dressed as Lemmy. Shades, beards (real!) and blood shot eyes.
Opened with Iron Fist then it was Stone Dead Forever, Killed By Death, Overkill, Motorhead, Orgasmatron then finally Ace Of Spades. Dan really kept it tight and pushed the songs forward. Not bad for a Black Metal bass player!
Was a ball to be up there with those 2 guys and to be back in 3 piece again. The crowd were very receptive and there was a lot of interplay between the hecklers and Clint and myself. Onstage banter and horseplay - - Drunken fun with some classic rock songs makes for a great evening. Iron Fist was repeated at the end due to a self induced encore 8).
Scraped a razor blade up and down the strings of my Destroyer.. yeech!
Playing these tracks in the style and voice of Motorhead made the difference between us trying to sound like Motorhead and actually sounding like them.. lots of smiles in the crowd as well mesmerised women :O hehe
I'm sure people loved it... especially hard core Motorhead fans.

The Lateness Of The Long Distance Drinker
Sat morning I woke up from a booze induced deep sleep 15 minutes before I was due to catch a plane back to Perth!
i thought I was due to fly out 2 hours later...!
The tram line which was to take me to a shuttle bus was CLOSED for repairs!
My mobile phone battery was close to DEAD FLAT.
I ring the airline's ONE and ONLY contact number and was put on hold.
I ring my girl in Perth and ask them to call the airline for me..
An hour later (while I was chewing my nails to the bone on another Melbourne tram) my girl calls back to tell that the plane "..has been delayed for 2 hours..".. Holy hell! Another lucky break in my life!
Waited around Melbourne airport for 40 mins after jumping the queue due to being 'late'.
Bonus: had the whole back seat row of the plane to myself....! Could sleep some more.
reason for the aforementioned stress?

Celtic Frost(ed) Melbourne 14.06.07
Woah.. a special subject to open this Babble with...
Witnessed the mighty tyrants that are CELTIC FROST on a freezing nite in Melbourne 14th June!
From Switzerland (or somewhere between) to Australia they came. I travelled from Perth, Australia with a Metal DJ pal 'o mine Derek (The Usurper - Anger Management) to catch them in the flesh. They are one of the very few bands that I would probably travel to the other side of Australia for. And I'm glad I did as they were no bullshit, no pyros, no forced grimness! Every song was/is a classic indeed! Such dark grooves without having to detune down to 'Mud#'.
Tom Warrior operated his 3D painted H.R. Giger Iceman with the attitude of evil and conviction!
I got the opportunity to thank Tom and drummer Frank for travelling so far.. had some photos..Tom signed my arm (too messy to get tattooed!). Missed out on any merch as it had all been sold before Frost played any music!
Did I mention i drank 2 bottles of house red wine at the show? Hence, my slanted look :S Perhaps that was what made the show even more surreal.
Such darkness and attitude cannot be forced. It can only be there from birth.
